Seven PReMI project appointments
JIPMER's Preventive and Social Medicine department is recruiting two Project Technical Support-III staff, one Project Technical Support-II and four Project Nurse-II staff for the PReMI study. This ICMR-funded project examines a community/digital intervention to reduce cardiometabolic risk among high-risk young adults in South India. The posts support a field study rather than regular hospital establishment vacancies. The separate scientist recruitment associated with PReMI is not included in this seven-seat count.
Technical Support-III qualification
PTS-III accepts a postgraduate degree in public health or epidemiology, or a three-year graduate degree with three years' relevant experience. Excellent Tamil and English communication and a two-wheeler with driving licence are essential. Preferred experience includes community research, PHCs, NCD prevention, field-team coordination and participant recruitment. Interest in a possible extramural project-PhD stream is listed, but the notice expressly says any such admission needs further approval and is not guaranteed by job selection.
Technical Support-II and Nurse-II routes
PTS-II lists a three-year graduate course or a diploma with two years' relevant experience, Tamil/English communication and MS Office, especially Excel. Data-management, electronic-data-capture and validation experience are desirable. Nurse-II lists a three-year BSc Nursing/BSc MLT course or a diploma with two years' relevant experience, together with Tamil/English communication and a two-wheeler with licence. Check the wording of the exact route rather than assuming identical qualifications across all three titles.
Field-coordination and data roles
PTS-III coordinates daily field operations, supervises staff, supports screening and recruitment, monitors intervention delivery and follow-up, and manages participant messaging and logistics. PTS-II concentrates on study databases, entry verification, cleaning, validation, completeness and datasets prepared for statistical analysis. These roles overlap in research quality but have different primary responsibilities. An applicant should connect their experience to the selected role rather than submit one undifferentiated description for every post.
Nursing responsibilities
Project Nurse-II staff visit households, measure blood pressure and anthropometric indicators, collect blood samples under the protocol, follow up participants and offer counselling support. Participants with abnormal findings are referred to PHCs. Accurate records and timely field-data collection are central duties. Relevant community-health or public-health research experience is desirable, including sampling and participant follow-up. Consider the travel and language requirements before treating this as a solely ward-based nursing opportunity.
Remuneration, age and duration
PTS-III pays ₹33,600 monthly. PTS-II and Nurse-II each pay ₹24,000 monthly, with no additional allowances. The likely project duration is three years, subject to project funding and the engagement conditions. The baseline maximum age is 40 at the closing date, with applicable government relaxation. These temporary contracts do not create a right to regular JIPMER employment or an automatic PhD place.
Email route and supporting documents
Email the prescribed form, CV and supporting records in one PDF to [email protected] by 6 November 2026 at 5 pm IST. State the selected post in the subject and use the notice's filename format. If applying for different posts, complete separate forms and send separate emails with their corresponding attachments. Educational, identity, age and experience evidence should support the route claimed; a CV alone is not a complete application.
Shortlisting and practical preparation
JIPMER will shortlist from the submitted documents for the notified evaluation/interview, with dates and arrangements announced separately. Applicants should monitor official announcements and their email. Application guidance: field applicants can explain a household-screening or follow-up workflow, while data applicants can describe how they detected missing or inconsistent observations. Demonstrate actual Tamil/English communication and mobility readiness where required. Do not infer a separate examination pattern or additional allowance from another JIPMER project notice.
