What this project notice covers
ICMR-NITHR Jabalpur advertisement 06/2026-27 covers several scientific, nursing, field, administrative and laboratory project positions. Projects include health-technology assessment, rural-health research, drone-enabled medical logistics, malaria serology, sickle-cell research, digital diabetes prevention and dengue studies. The work sites differ by project and include Jabalpur, Balaghat, Jheet in Durg and Datia. Read the vacancy row for both the post and project; similar titles do not guarantee the same location or subject background.
Scientists and medical consultant
The Scientist-II medical/non-medical entry provides the listed MBBS/BVSc/BDS experience or postgraduate/doctoral alternatives. The Jheet Scientist-II non-medical entry requires a life-science or equivalent postgraduate degree with three years' post-qualification experience, or a PhD. Scientist-I entries require relevant postgraduate qualifications. The medical consultant accepts MBBS/BDS and supports sickle-cell follow-up. Essential and desirable criteria differ, including public-health work, molecular biology, NGS, bioinformatics and laboratory quality-control experience.
Nurse-IV and Nurse-III eligibility
Two Nurse-IV positions require a nursing degree from an institution recognized by the Nursing Council of India and three years as a staff nurse. Ten Nurse-III places list a four-year nursing course. Preferred experience includes clinical assessments, participant interviews, community health, field-data collection and supervising field teams. Work can involve participant follow-up, checking data completeness and supporting protocol-compliant field operations. These are research-project nursing appointments, so applicants should evaluate the field responsibilities as well as clinical qualifications.
Technical, field and administrative routes
Technical Support-III entries generally use a relevant three-year degree plus three years of post-qualification experience, or a relevant postgraduate degree. Individual projects prefer social work, population studies, dengue-related laboratory research or public-health survey skills. The administration assistant requires graduation and two years' administrative work. Technical Support-II/laboratory entries list Class 12 plus two years of relevant experience, with phlebotomy, laboratory investigations, DMLT or fieldwork preferences as stated in the corresponding row.
Remuneration and age
The monthly amounts include Scientist-II ₹67,000, Scientist-I ₹56,000, Nurse-IV ₹40,000, Nurse-III ₹28,000, Technical Support-III ₹28,000, administration assistant ₹24,000 and Technical Support-II ₹20,000. Add only the HRA specified for the chosen row; some list 20% while others say admissible HRA. Ordinary age ceilings range by post, including 40 for Scientist-II, 35 for several scientist/support posts and Nurse-IV, and 30 for Nurse-III and specified junior posts. The consultant ceiling is 70.
Very short contract condition
The engagement is for three months or until finalisation of the specified manpower-outsourcing GeM contract, whichever occurs earlier. This condition is more restrictive than assuming a multi-year appointment from the duration of a research project. Selection creates no claim to regular ICMR employment. Applicants already in regular government time-scale service are ineligible under the general terms. Local candidates and applicants with stronger relevant qualifications or experience may receive the preference described in the notice.
Interview dates and reporting window
The scientist, consultant and nursing entries use 5 November 2026; field/support/administrative entries shown later use 6 November. Verify your exact row. The venue is ICMR-NITHR, Nagpur Road, Garha, Jabalpur 482003. Applications are accepted at the walk-in between 9 am and 11 am only, and entry after 11 am is not permitted. Treating 6 November as a common deadline would cause candidates for the earlier posts to miss their event.
Application file and role-specific preparation
Download the prescribed form and bring it completed with supporting copies; originals of qualifications, age and experience are required for verification before joining. Include a complete postal address, mobile and email. Application guidance: select a single project row first, then map its research or clinical duties to your documented experience. Check whether relocation and tribal-area travel suit you. The official table remains necessary for reservation, project-specific qualifications and the full document instructions.
